Working posture and equipment
Begin with screen position, keyboard, lighting and the space needed for forearms. Desk height is considered with the chair, while depth must provide a comfortable viewing distance.
Measure equipment and the route behind the chair. A compact desk may suit a smaller room; several screens, meetings or drawing work require a different surface.
Legroom and construction
The position of legs, cross-members and cable equipment must leave freedom for knees and feet. A visually light base still needs to support the weight and natural movement of a solid top.
Length and width are agreed with the selected plank. One continuous piece provides uninterrupted grain, while another construction may suit special dimensions better.
A surface for daily work
Oak brings warm grain and ash can create a lighter expression. Natural or pigmented oil changes both colour and maintenance; a reference photograph cannot guarantee an identical result.
Describe the expected daily use when requesting a proposal. The quotation confirms timber, dimensions, edge, finish, base and any international transport.
