Bespoke solid-wood coffee tables

A coffee or lounge table must be easy to reach without obstructing the room. Its height and footprint begin with the sofa and everyday movement.

Height and distance from the sofa

Assess the table from the seated position. Height should work with the sofa seat, and the distance should make it comfortable to reach the surface and stand up.

Mark the outline on the floor before choosing length and width. In a compact room, a shorter or narrower top may create more calm than a large centrepiece.

Proportion and circulation

A long lounge arrangement can support a larger low table, while a corner sofa may require clear routes on more than one side. Doors and paths through the living room remain part of the brief.

The base should look balanced at a low height and remain stable without creating sharp obstacles in the main route.

Timber seen at close range

Grain, natural edges and finish are experienced closely on a coffee table. Oak can add warmth and structure; ash often appears lighter, while smoked or pigmented finishes create more contrast.

Send sofa dimensions, seat height and room photographs. The selected plank, edge, finish, base, price and delivery are then confirmed in the proposal.
